In the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1, a rugged design meets portability making it a little pocket dynamo. It is tough and small enough to fit into your pocket. Panasonic won’t be taking a break anytime soon in its ToughPad tablet series, and they can only get better. TOUGHPAD FZ-M1 is not your average tablet that offers performance for casual use; it is a powerful device weighing just 1.27 lbs and featuring 700-nit direct sunlight viewable display. It provides excellent performance supported by military-grade durability and a user-friendly experience with the Windows 10 Pro software. Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 is quite expensive, and if you can’t afford this, there’s a much cheaper and older version on Amazon that runs on Windows 8.1 Pro, 128GB/256GB storage, but if you want full productivity, this version is highly recommended.

DISPLAY

ToughPad FZ-M1’s display is not the most spectacular of displays, but it is highly impressive and responds very well to touch, and helps you stay focused even in potentially hazardous environments. The display is a 700-nits high-definition display and has anti-reflection coatings giving you clarity when used outside in daylight. When you work in the rain, or you’ve got wet fingers, you do not have to worry as you can always adjust the touch settings. You may have to press the screen’s touch with a bit more pressure than in regular tablets. An on-screen keyboard is the primary means of input, but there are six other physical buttons. Power, screen-rotation, lock, and volume are designated to four of those buttons, and the other two are definable to the user’s taste.

PERFORMANCE

ToughPad FZ-M1 has a very powerful corei5 processor and sufficient RAM to efficiently run all your apps, and multi-tabbing/tasking has never been easier. The processor is energy efficient, and the device won’t hang up or heat up when running multiple tabs or apps, thus enhancing your productivity. The storage capacity is also large, with a minimum of 256GB, and it’s expandable. The Pen works just fine for sketching or drawing and feels like a real pen when you take notes. The 802.11 Wi-Fi connectivity helps reduce interference when streaming or transferring files. First responders can easily take pictures of events in a location or record good quality videos with both dual cameras and the powerful built-in digital array microphones.

DURABILITY

Panasonic ToughPad FZ-M1 is a rugged and versatile little tablet built to survive the worst of conditions. Unlike most consumer tablets, it is made for enterprise applications and is very suitable for mission-critical, highly mobile workers who need exceptional tools to effectively get their work done. It is five times more reliable than most notebooks out there, with fewer repairs and reduced downtime. This device offers maximum protection against rain, dust, heat/high temperature, cold/very low temperature, sand/dust, and even occasional vibration and shocks. It has an IP65 protection rating meaning it is resistant to dust and water.

Toughpad FZ-M1 has been designed to adhere to MIL-STD-810G protection tests, dropped from a height of 5 feet, and still functions normally with no damage. It is a very suitable device for first responders. The battery is a long life user replaceable that can last for 8 hours, and there’s an optional longer-life battery that can extend battery life to 15 hours of usage. See the specs below for battery details.
